The first edition of the event "Student Cultural Innovation from Galati" took place on October 30, in the lobby of "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati. The event addressed the students enrolled at DJUG and is part of the series of the extracurricular projects, aimed at encouraging foreign students to expose the most innovative ideas to promote all cultural segments in their countries.

"One year of activities for the League of Foreign Students within our university. An auspicious anniversary for all of us who are here, students, professors, guests and for all our university and community. First of all, I wish happy birthday to the League of Foreign Students of the University and good luck in everything they do. The University enjoys the presence of students from 37 countries with a growing trend that pleases us because it is about another experience, another culture, ideas, and lives that sometimes come from very far away to enrich us with their science and culture. The University has, at the same time, collaboration contracts with universities from over 100 countries around the world, about half of the members of the United Nations, which leads us to the idea that internationalization is a concern, an objective priority of the University. Thank you for the invitation, thank you to all the teams who prepared for today's show, and we wish them the best of luck. We are waiting for them to invite us to our second anniversary with even more teams. Happy birthday to all of you and see you healthy again in the coming year", said the Rector of "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, professor Puiu-Lucian Georgescu, PhD.

"Last year, at this time, I was flirting with the idea of organizing such an event and here we are. All with the help of the University management, with the help of volunteers, along with the League of Foreign Students and with the help of representatives from the 12 countries who accepted our invitation to participate in the event. I thank them all, once again!", said, in his turn, the Vice-Rector for University Strategies and Partnership with Students, professor Ciprian Vlad, PhD.

11 teams from 12 countries entered the competition: Italy, Spain, Iraq, Republic of Moldova, Yemen, Romania, Ukraine, India, Syria, Turkey, Algeria, and Tunisia.
Prizes were offered for 3 categories: Online, Out-Door and the special prize of sponsors. In the "online" category, the Algerian team won, in the Out-Door category, the prize went to the Ukraine team and the special prize of the sponsors went to the Romania & Yemen team.

The event was organized by DJUG through the League of Foreign Students to integrate foreign students into the academic environment in Galat.
