Although the current legislative context does not allow the organization of large-scale live events, the organizers managed this year to transpose online one of the largest medical events, targeting approximately 1,000 participants simultaneously - European Conference on Psychiatry and Mental Health GALATIA 2021 will took place on April 21-25, online - thus becoming accessible from anywhere in the world.
 

This bold project, now in its 5th edition, traditionally organized by the “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati, together with the “Elisabeta Doamna” Psychiatric Hospital, in partnership with the Romanian Academy, has become a well-known scientific medical event which addresses mainly to health specialists concerned with psychiatry.

Organized live in previous years, the event causes both a significant influx of tourists in the city of Galati and an important interest in continuing medical education, being listed as an excellent event in the field, which led to the continuation of tradition and less friendly interaction direct human.


Thus, at the request of the participants from previous years and with the support of specialists from "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, was provided, since the 4th edition, an online platform for the event, offering the possibility of successful participation of specialists from all over the country at all the scientific sessions presented, from the comfort of their own home.

Prof. univ. dr. Anamaria Ciubară - primary psychiatrist will coordinate the event together with the honorary presidents of the Galatia 2021 Conference:

  • Prof. univ. dr. Aurel Nechita - father of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, “Dunărea de Jos” University of Galați;
  • Prof. Dr. Eng. Puiu Lucian Georgescu - Rector of the “Dunărea de Jos” University of Galați;
  • Prof. univ. Dr. Michael Davidson, Head of the Department of Psychiatry at Sheba Medical Center and Professor of Psychiatry at Sakler School of Medicine (USA).


In this year's edition, taking into account the current context, the scientific committee proposes for debates to specialists and scientists, a challenging topic of the moment - "Virtual addictions and interdisciplinarity in psychiatry, during the pandemic."

Prof. Univ. Dr. Anamaria Ciubară, as president of the scientific event states that: "One of the priorities of this event is to unite the representatives of the two fields: psychiatry - psychology, in order to achieve a personalized therapeutic profile for people affected by psycho-pathological disorders" , the conference containing in this sense a complete section dedicated to clinical psychologists.

Nationally and internationally recognized specialists are invited, as speakers, thus offering all participants a multidisciplinary perspective, but also an interactive, global, authentic experience during the 5 days dedicated to the event.

Notable guests such as prof. Univ. dr. Michael Davidson - Israel, President of the World Society of Pediatrics - prof. dr. Enver Hasanoğlu, prof. univ. Dr. Giangennaro Coppola - Italy, prof. univ. dr. Betul Ulukol - Turkey, prof. dr. Francesca Felicia Operto - Italy, President of the Romanian College of Psychologists - prof. univ. dr. Ion Dafinoiu, President of the Psiwork Association Aurel Lefter, prof. univ. dr. Diana Iliescu-Bulgaru - director of the Institute of Forensic Medicine Iasi, associate professor dr. Iuliu Fulga, director of the Forensic Medicine Service Galati, Dr. Cristina Panisi - Italy, one of the most famous experts in Europe in autistic disorders, are just some of the personalities who will present debates and latest studies in the field, following that the final program can be accessed on the web page: https://lapsihiatru.ro/ as well as on the Facebook page of the event.

It is also important to mention that the participation in the European Conference of Psychiatry and Mental Health "Galatia 2021" will provide credits for continuous professional training to those present online: doctors, psychologists and pharmacists.

Another element specific to the event is the fact that the best papers written by participants, evaluated by the scientific committee, will be published in the indexed journal WOS - Neuroscience, the rest of the accepted papers being published in ISI Proceedings.

Registrations for the event are made online, accessing the website lapsihiatru.ro, and the organizers support the educational act by allowing free access to students from the faculties of medicine, pharmacy and psychology, regardless of the city of study.
Thus, born in Galati, the  GALATIA 2021 event - redefined its caliber year after year, crossing borders, to create and consolidate real landmarks in research and provide outstanding experiences in the continuous medical evolution of health specialists from any corner of the world. , among the participants registered so far being citizens from all over Europe but also from the USA, Canada and Australia.
